Standard Data Conversion

Orbit Software will assist you in loading your district specific data. With the standard data conversion, you send us information about your district and will will load that information in to a BusBoss database. The standard data conversion includes:

• Student Information
• School Information
• School Calendars
• School Boundaries
• Bus Stop Information
• Vehicle Information
• Driver Information
• Contractor Information
• Depot Locations
• Map Information (such as road blocks, road hazards, one-sided pickups, one-ways, height and weight restricted roads and turn restrictions

Map Data

If you have access to your own maps, and would like to use them in BusBoss instead of the map data we supply, you can do that. In order to accommodate this, you will need to send us an electronic copy of your map data.

If you have access to the district boundaries and would like to use them in BusBoss, you can also do that. In order to accommodate this, you will need to send us an electronic file of your boundary data.

Route Conversion

The route conversion can only be purchased in conjunction with the standard data conversion.  With the optional route conversion, Orbit Software will import your existing routes along with students assigned to their stops and routes in to the BusBoss database.

Map Modification Service

Orbit Software offers a service to update your map data. Over time, map data can become old and outdated. Maps also become outdated when new developments are added in your service area. With our map modification service, you can ensure that your maps will continue to be up to date.

BusBoss allows its users to modify their maps anytime they choose. The problem with this method is that you must "guess" where the new roads are. You can create the roads yourself using BusBoss, but the quality of the roads added are questionable. So you can drive the new developments with a GPS receiver in your vehicle then download the GPS positions and add the new roads to your map.

With our Map Modification Service, you will be guaranteed accurate map data (for the portions of the map that are modified) without doing all of the work.

To perform this service, we drive the new developments with a GPS receiver in our vehicle. While driving the development, we make sure to note the accurate street spellings and the house number ranges along each stretch of road. Then, we download the GPS positions and add the new roads to your map. The map modifications occur at your location so there are no additional tasks required of you or your staff.
