Database Tools Menu
This will create a backup file for your database in the event that you need to Restore lost data. It is wise to backup the database before and after any large or major changes to your data.
Backup Database Confirmation Screen
Information from BusBoss™ data files can be exported to various types of file formats. The available file formats are:
- Excel (XLS)
- Comma-Quote Delimited (TXT)
- Comma Separated Values (CSV)
- Tab Delimited (TAB)
Select Export from the file menu. A screen pops up with a list of all the data tables in BusBoss™ on the left. When you click on a table name, the fields in the selected table will display as check boxes in the list on the right side of the screen.
Export Data Screen
Select the fields you want from the list on the right by clicking in the check box area. These are the data fields that will be exported.
Select a path and file name to save the exported file to. If you do not know the path or file name, click the button to the right of the Save To field and select it.
Click Process to begin the export. This export file can be opened using Microsoft Excel or used any other way you choose.
If your system is running slowly there may be a problem with the indexes. This utility will re-create the indexes needed for BusBoss™ to function properly. Make sure no one else is logged into BusBoss™ prior to running this utility. Once this utility is started do not use your computer until it is completed. It will take approximately 20-25 minutes to run.
Click Yes to reindex the database. Click No to cancel.
This will restore data from the selected Backup file. You will lose all changes made since the date of the backup. There is no way to undo a restore.
Restore Database Screen
This is ordinarily not required unless instructed by a member of our technical support staff. This will shrink the SQL server log file size, increasing the speed of database access.
Click Yes to shrink the database. Click No to cancel.
