MAP ROUTES DROPDOWN
Map Routes Dropdown Menu
This menu contains the following functions used for modifying the routes on your map.
I want to see all my routes on the map, how?
Found on the ROUTES dropdown, this button allows you to display one or more routes on the map. Use this screen to display multiple routes in different colors at the same time. This provides you with a convenient way of making your routes more efficient. For example, areas where routes overlap can be changed to eliminate redundant miles traveled and parts of routes can be combined to possibly eliminate a route.
Click Display Routes and a screen pops up. There are three tabs on this menu:
Under the Select Tab, you can select the routes to be displayed by Driver, Purpose, Bus number (accommodates manual and/or electric wheelchairs), and Schools. This will determine what routes will be listed in the Route tab to be selected to display.
Display Routes Select Tab
Under the Routes Tab, a list of routes will appear depending on what was chosen on the Select Tab. You can chose what routes will be visible by clicking on the Visible box beside the route description. You have the option of displaying each route a different color. The color selected for each route is saved so next time you display the route it will default to the currently selected color.
At the bottom of the screen from left to right, the following information is displayed according to the route selected in the route tab. The total minutes of the route, the total number of miles, total number of students, and the capacity of the bus assigned to the route. This information is also displayed while in the Stops tab.
Display Routes Route Tab
The Stops Tab will display the Route Description, Days of the Week, Start Time, Purpose, Driver, Bus number, and Schools assigned to the route selected in the Route tab. Below this information, a grid is displayed with the Order of Each Stop, Stop Description, Count of Students at that stop, Time of Pick-up or Drop-off, and Number of Miles from stop to stop.

Point to Point Screen

Click Point to Point then click on the starting point you want. Click on the next point, and so on. You have the option to Avoid Road Blocks, Road Hazards and/or Hazardous Intersections. There are other options such as Treat one way roads as bi-directional, Allow Turnaround, Ignore Turn Restrictions, Designate Max Height and Weight roads to be used and to calculate the route using the Shortest Distance or the Shortest Time. Click Calculate to return driving directions, total distance and travel time.
A path will display on the map from the start point to each additional point. Click Print to print the directions to the printer. To print the map, Click the Print Map icon found in the Map toolbar.
Click Remove to remove the selected point on the map or Clear to start over.
NOTE: Routes that are created using this function are not saved. This function is helpful for calculating the mileage from the border of your district to a school outside the district to see if it is within the legal limit for transporting students.
